Yearning To Be Acne Free
Yearning to be acne free is the condition of many Americans today. Acne is not age discriminatory, but it does hit those in their teenage years more often than others. Teenagers are going through a time of hormonal change that puts them at the mercy of this sometimes devastating condition. But there's hope out there, and plenty of ways to treat and manage acne. And much more is known about it than in the past decades, thus, we have better ways of treating it.
Used to be that the way people dealt with their acne, was to squeeze and pop and clean out the rash of chaos on our faces. But we've since learned that this can lead to an even worse thing, which is scarring. It's better to find a good way to keep your face clean, your pores open, and to manage your acne until this season passes. It does pass for many, but for others not so much. Each individual has a different challenge before them.
Today exfoliants are used to help keep the skin's oiliness under control. During a time of acne, your skin produces an excessive amount of oil. This is where the acne thrives. And while it's a good idea to get rid of the oil, your skin still needs a certain amount to remain healthy. It's a delicate balance and sometimes hard to reach. But most people find that using a mild cleanser twice daily is a good rule of thumb.
Many people are yearning to be acne free, but unfortunately for some this isn't realistic. For them, manageability is the next thing to try to attain. If you've started out on your own treatment program, one thing you need to do is to not get discouraged if results don't happen as quickly as you desire. Sometimes it can take weeks before you show any signs of progress. But a persistent treating of the skin will eventually produce results.
There's a wonderful little anti-bacterial agent known as 'Benzoyl peroxide' that you'll find is in many of the available treatments. This agent keeps the pores in your skin open, and thus reduces the amount of risk for infection and for blockage. Some people tend to go overboard with their cleansing, since the results can be slow. They over-clean, which can also be damaging to your skin.
Sometimes a person will find that their acne just doesn't respond to any of the treatments they try. These cases should be seen by a dermatologist. Acne hits everybody it attacks on a different level. Every case faces it's own unique challenges. Some people barely notice their trip through the teenage years while others suffer horribly with this menacing condition.
Regardless of what you're fighting, it's a good idea to understand the root cause when seeking treatment. In the case of acne, an immune system that has an inability to fight off 'P acnes', which is the causing agent for acne, is the first one. The second is you body producing an excessive amount of hormones. And the third is your skin producing an excessive amount of oils. So when seeking treatments, you should keep these things in mind while you're shopping.
All acne sufferers are yearning to be acne free. It's a shame that not all will attain to that condition. But there are far more experiencing it today than have in times past. Our knowledge of this condition and how to treat it has come a long way, and should continue to rise in effectiveness as the years pass. There's plenty of information for you to find online if you need to research it for your own condition. And be encouraged that you could be one of the ones who actually end up acne free.
